USAwx Rules & Regulations

Mission Statement

USAwx's mission is to create a friendly, diverse, and productive environment for all weather enthusiasts regardless of religious, political, ethnic, or sexual orientation. In order to protect these values, we have created the following forum rules which will apply to each and every member including USAwx staff.

General Forum Wide Posting / Content Rules

• Zero tolerance policy of posted content that includes any and all types of pornography or pornographic images. This includes links that direct members to the internet environment outside of USAwx.
• Zero tolerance policy of posted content that includes or alludes to any activity that is deemed illegal by the United States of America. This obviously includes illegal drug use, drug paraphernalia, or drug cultivation/ production. This also includes links that direct members to an internet environment outside of USAwx which violates this rule.
• Zero tolerance policy of trolling USAwx members with the OBVIOUS intent to defame or harass in contradiction to the board mission statement.  Each case will be at the discretion of USAwx staff only and dealt with on an individual basis which could result in forum banishment. We do understand that member trolling is an accepted activity among friends or a group who share a similar interest. Again, our USAwx mission statement is the guideline.
• Zero tolerance policy for using this forum for spamming and or financial gain unless explicit reasoning is presented to USAwx. Approved or disapproved determination will be made by USAwx staff.  
• Each members account is the sole responsibility of the original creator which is documented with USAwx. Any member who might share their login information with others will be responsible for all content posted.
• Each registered member is to have only one account. Members found having multiple accounts will be given one warning and a second offense will result in an automatic perma-ban.
• Zero tolerance policy of cross message board trolling.  USAwx members caught trolling members of USAwx on another message board will be treated as doing so with the OBVIOUS intent to defame or harass in contradiction to our mission statement.  Each case will be at the discretion of USAwx staff only and dealt with on an individual basis which could result in forum banishment.
• The staff explicitly reserves the right to remove, move, or modify, any member post without prior knowledge or permission of that member.
• Zero tolerance policy for posting on behalf of those banned in any forum or private message.
• Other than private messages which contain hateful, illegal, or harassing language, the contents of a Private Message (PM) are private and cannot be made public without the express written consent of the USAwx member who drafted the private message.

Weather Forum Posting Rules

• Zero tolerance policy on trolling meteorologists in any weather forum thread.  First offense is a warning, second offense is an automatic time out, third offense and you are out.
• Weather forum regional trolling and member trolling is not allowed outside of banter threads. Trolling that incites flame wars will be monitored on a case by case basis.  USAwx staff realizes that trolling among friends and or group affiliations is an accepted practice. This must stay in banter threads.
• Threads are to be clean of off-topic discussion, including periods of slow weather activity.  If you want to banter, please do so in a designated banter thread.
• Observations and weather reports in weather forums are for meteorologists and trained spotters only. If you have an observation, please post it in an amateur obs thread and it will be reviewed for accuracy, authenticity, and then potentially moved to an official observation thread.
