February 8, 20241 yr 30 years ago today February 8, 1994 light snow began falling at 8 AM. By 10 AM the snow rates were 3 inches per temperatures dropped into the teens and there was cloud toground lightning. Traffic everywhere came to a standstill as windshield wipers on cars broke from the ice that accumulated on the car windows and the roads were absolutely terrible. I finished with 11 inches of snow and then later on we got another big snowstorm in February 11 which dropped another 11 inches by me. This was the biggest frozen precipitation event with no plain rain since February 11, 1983 blizzard.

January 20, 2025Jan 20 I was looking at past radars and snow videos I took and I forgot what an epic band January 4th 2018 had.
January 20, 2025Jan 20 Look at these NAM maps for Jan 4th 2018 only 36 hours out. People would have a meltdown (myself included) if we saw this now:

January 21, 2025Jan 21 Ah I forgot the Euro has been a crap model for awhile. Remember the Cool tuck in storm in March 2017? It was the storm that turned to sleet for most of us instead of being a huge snowstorm. Here was the Euro 2 days out: Here was the NAM:
January 21, 2025Jan 21 the 2017 storm had a very pos AO...some other March storms with a pos AO... 5.5" 3/12/1959...+1.4sd... 9.8" 3/21/1967...+2.5 sd... 6.6" 2/29-3/1/1968...+1.6sd... 10.6" 3/13/1993.....+1.7sd... 5.0" 3/2/1994...+2sd... 5.5" 3/16/2007...+1.9sd... 7.5" 3/4/2015...+4.2sd... 7.5" 3/14/2017...+3.5sd...

Is there some type of pattern with +AO in March or does a +AO have the same effects generally on our snowstorms no matter what winter month it is?
