Think I got 18 - but they got 30. We paid for that early finger 🙈 Ended up with nearly 30 here from Feb 21. Crazy long duration storm. Not insane rates, but 2" rates for hours on end. One of my favorites for tracking for sure
August 7, 20223 yr Great storm for Eastern PA and NW NJ. 24th all time on NESIS. Snow fell for three days

Saw that month setting up in January with the blocking across Canada and the jet underneath. Miss that month
August 7, 20223 yr This one hurt a lot, I remember tracking it for a week and it slipped north in the last two days. Obvious to see now in hindsight, no blocking at all despite a strong 50/50 low. Still ended up with like 6-8" here, but areas in northern PA and Binghamton got like 40

August 7, 20223 yr Author 700mb low came too close. Wasn't cuz of the blocking just hard when we transfer energy from the sw to get that 700mb low to pull East

August 7, 20223 yr Author Plenty of good storms with west and east blocking It's a complex recipe never just one piece Hence why we chase them

August 7, 20223 yr Boxing day 4 was great on Staten Island...that and blizz of 96 were the most crippling in this area...I like storms that were true blizzards with huge drifts...single digit temperatures during or after the storm...those storms were... December 1960... January 1961... January 1964... February 1967... I can't think of any more storms that were very windy, very cold and a foot or more of snow with huge drifts... bliz of 96 started very cold but no major cold after the storm... same goes for PD1 and 2...
