      I posted a week or so ago that in November NINAs the MJO likes to slow and the RIMMS typically are too fast in the LR.   So the MJO is doing as expected.   I have to see p7 in Dece

    We've never had a 30 day p8

    I do have the cold period lasting 45 days

    However im sorry for my coastal people early- it just will not help

    What's crazy is even once we get out of 8, we still have 1 & 2 to go through before we get to warmer phases in January. Could be a while. And I'm not sure anyone has a great handle on that exact timing given the potentially unprecedented MJO stall.

    Jan thaw must have been when it was looping around in the 3,4 area of the COD. Then it came out in 7 for Feb.

    It was a 4-5 day thaw, majorly. Big cutter rainstorm in the middle of tye thaw that had temps soar into the 60 range!! Then ~2 days later it unloaded with snow and frigid temps. That ran through late March.

    will never forget that thaw, had 30 inches of snow on the ground, then a snoweater wind with heavy rain and temps near 60 wiped out the snow cover in a matter of 4 hours, snow melt and 4 inches or rain,major flooding

    I guess we will see. I found him to be pretty crappy last year with the colder season overall. Eventually a warmer period will come to be though
