PDO number for Oct was -2.40...Sept was -2.39...Last Oct was -3.80 but it rose to -2.03 by December...its possible we could see another Dec with a -2 pdo...If so, here are the other Decembers with a neg 2 or lower PDO...out of the 12 years six were average to above...two winters had 60"...one 50"...six winters had a 10"+ snowstorm...1994-95 was the only el nino year...1990-91 was a weak pos year...eight la nina if you count last year as one...there are some real duds and a great one recently...2010-11 was very similar to 1872-73...both having an 18"+ storm the day after Christmas and over 60" for the season...

My favorite state of all time is Colorado. The beauty of the state is amazing. The northern part, Rocky mountain national park, then you go south to Silverton, Colorado. I almost bought property in Boulder Colorado in my youth, but my wife at the time was against it. also its the state that it can snow anytime during the year, also the weather is variable which I love. I vacation there a lot. I remember going to Page Arizona in 1983 and seeing a sign saying "founded 1957" was cute back then everyone worked at the glen powell dam and everyone had the same house, two cars, a boat, was pretty funny and is an oasis of green in a sea of red clay.

what is funny is you can have one big snowstorm to skew a winter thinking. For instance if you just saw someone post snow totals for the winter 2015-16. They would think it was a great winter because we had one freak storm where some people got 34 inches meanwhile the winter sucked, same thing with the winter of 1982-83 we has only like three weeks of winter in February and on the blizzard of Feb 11th I got 31 inches living in westchester at the time

I also love colorado. Just too many soy boys out there now.

The analog maps have changed. I don't really like the new format, but one thing I really do like: they added new years.

The analog set now includes years up to 2020!

Dec 2025 temps...compared to Dec 1933...Dec 1933 temps were similar...the rest of the 1933-34 winter...Jan-Feb 1934 temps...that winter was extremely cold at times...haven't seen that yet this year...January 34 was mild compared to Dec and Feb around here...that could happen this year except it won't be that cold...

PDO number for Dec was -1.01...some similar years...
