I’d believe the gfs more if the euro showed something similar. Gfs was terrible for the storm tomorrow

The Euro last run just showed snow on Christmas Eve. If you expect models to be exactly the same 12 days out, then you're going to have to wait about 50 years.

Both the GFS/Euro show a wave break event off the west coast thanks to the relentless -WPO/-EPO block, which helps set the table in a similar way for Xmas week.

It does have to happen some time. It was very close in 2002 and 1966.

2002 would have been perfect if it was all snow...1966 ended around 4am...I think it was 1902 came close when snow developed around dawn...

1966 was on 12/24

the three big Christmas eve storms...

1961...snow ended around 1130pm Christmas eve...6" in Central Park...10" at Newark...

1963...snow ends early Christmas eve...6" fell...another period of snow Christmas eve after dark whitens the snowpack...

1966...7" of snow Christmas eve and ends at around 4am Christmas day...

all three had a period of sleet and or freezing drizzle...

The storm itself is the exciting part. I don’t care if it gets washed away a few days later. I am 47. My sledding days have past

It happened in 2002, the Christmas 2002 snowstorm.
