December 15, 2025Dec 15 Central Park now has 4.4" for yesterday's storm on the daily climate data...what happened?...

The west coast ski resorts California, Colorado, Utah, Montana etc are having one of their driest and worst seasons on record. They were all unable to open on time and have not received much natural snow. Trail counts are down significantly along with open terrain. I think that’s what annoying him because he purchased a ski pass.

I think that’s what annoying him because he purchased a ski pass.Yeah I get that but two things: First, when you say things like "90% of the country has had a bad start to winter" when snowcover is near records, and "it's so dry and dusty here, we're in a permanent drought", when actual precipitation is near or above normal in this state, it makes the person look like a complete fool.Secondly, I get it if his ski pass was for Christmas, but it's for FEBRUARY. If I had a ski pass for the Rockies for February, I'd actually be pretty excited right now.The Rockies are definitely going to get snow. Has there ever been a real dry, snowless winter in the Rockies? It's basically impossible. If they don't get snow now, they'll probably have so much snow in the second half of winter that they won't know what to do with it!It's just basic climatology/law of averages.

December 15, 2025Dec 15 It makes more sense than a 5:1 ratio. The second half the storm was more powdery.
