The warmth keeps getting muted. Your being Colin 3.0.

By the end of the month only about 20% of the country will be BN. And thats an at best scenario. Sad we dont get BN departures as wide as our AN ones.

I guess they missed the snowstorm the Louisiana bayous got last winter?

On of them did. Had about 8” from it and fell in love with snow as a result.

Even here, it isn't going to be that much of a torch. Look at Thursday and Saturday- two decent cold shots.

It's going to be up and down and by the end of the month, a lot more down than up.

I don't even get what he's talking about no snow in the Rockies. They might be below normal, but I think 3-4 feet is enough to ski on?

Central Park now has 4.4" for yesterday's storm on the daily climate data...what happened?...

I understand his frustration. The west coast ski resorts California, Colorado, Utah, Montana etc are having one of their driest and worst seasons on record. They were all unable to open on time and have not received much natural snow. Trail counts are down significantly along with open terrain. I think that’s what annoying him because he purchased a ski pass.

Yeah I get that but two things: First, when you say things like "90% of the country has had a bad start to winter" when snowcover is near records, and "it's so dry and dusty here, we're in a permanent drought", when actual precipitation is near or above normal in this state, it makes the person look like a complete fool.

Secondly, I get it if his ski pass was for Christmas, but it's for FEBRUARY. If I had a ski pass for the Rockies for February, I'd actually be pretty excited right now.

The Rockies are definitely going to get snow. Has there ever been a real dry, snowless winter in the Rockies?

It's basically impossible. If they don't get snow now, they'll probably have so much snow in the second half of winter that they won't know what to do with it!

It's just basic climatology/law of averages.

lol I love that

It makes more sense than a 5:1 ratio. The second half the storm was more powdery.
