    At least you use 10:1 maps. I loathe the fucken Kuchera weenie maps that never verify.

    Kuchera is valuable in an Arctic air mass (i.e. 'dry snow').

    Yea but then at that point wind will start to destroy ratios.

    Wind, poor dendrite growth, dry air etc. pretty much need near perfect conditions for high ratio events at 700m especially.

    Believe it or not, the source region has a lot to do with ratios, too.
    I've done some research on the subject and storms with origins in NW Canada, i.e. clippers, always have higher ratios than pure Miller A storms.
