ZR always overdone. Even if 1/4 of this verifies. Many area in interior NY and CT have dicey issues

I don't think the ENSO state really matters in this case.

2002 and 2009 were El Nino Decembers that were above normal snowfall and both were snowy winters.

5 above zero, dewpoint 3 at 330 am amazing what deep snowcover will do

15. Legit shot for December

14.2 for the low.

WWA here for a period of freezing rain.

Something to keep an eye on this evening

Low of 15* here.

Looks pristine outside this morning. Deep winter.

Rare I see places to my East significantly colder than me, low of 21 here, up to 27 now. Dew of 19, will be interesting to see how much and how long FZR hangs on this evening. Models usually way to aggressive with warm up and highly doubt I see 50 tomorrow AM. I envision temp warm to mid 30s by midnight and hang there and maybe a couple hours where we break 40 before arctic front comes crashing in.

would be great if it ends as freezing rain and not change to a lot of rain. temps inching up now 17.1 degrees at 1030 am after a low of 2.7 degrees

Cloudy with temperatures slowly rising to near and then above freezing this evening. There could be a couple light showers this evening that in some of the higher ridge areas could briefly see some light icing if temperatures are still freezing when the showers arrive. The good news is temperatures will continue to rise tonight and well into the 40's tomorrow with a line of showers passing through in the morning. We will become sharply colder again tomorrow with temperatures dropping to freezing by evening. We then stay well below normal for the remainder of the week and into the first week of 2026. Next light snow chance looks possible around New Year's Day.
