It's true. I used to be alot more invested in it (and sports teams), but as I've aged realized there's more important things to stress about....the weather will do what the weather wants to do-it's not in our control-not yet at least....obviously still a major hobby but playing ball with my quickly growing up boys is more important than waiting for the 384 GFS LOL

Flurries and 19. 7 AM temp was 37. Five out of six days here have had at least a trace of snow.

Last year nyc only got down to 10 degrees for the winter low… that’s on the high side… this year should surpass that …

That is wild. I forget what day it was, but one night Somerville (my area) got to -7. I think overall I got below zero 3 or 4x. The -7 is one of the lowest temp that I remember getting ever (I'm 47) and the 4x below zero is more than I can remember too.

Lol Bluewave and Snow19 teaming up again..It's like hearing Christmas music on the radio, every year at this time..Today it's the pacific jet runing winter.

Next time they say that, ask them where they think the jet stream is supposed to come from?

Even if the jet comes out of Alaska, it has to ultimately get to the Pacific Ocean.

Below is the November Climate Summary for Chester County PA. With our average temperature of 43.8 degrees, we were just a little below Average 44.0. As you would suspect this was the 67th chilliest November out of 133 years. Our coldest November on record was the 37.5-degree average back in 1977. The warmest November on record was way back in 1931 at 50.8 degrees. We averaged across the area 2.06" of rain which is about 1.30" below normal. Our wettest November was in 2018 when we averaged 8.22" of rain. Snowfall was 0.5" with is 0.5" below normal for the month. Our snowiest on average November was back in 1938 when we averaged 10" of snow.

Without a Pacific Jet it's the dust bowl of the 1930's for the whole country haha

Also, if you had no SE/Bermuda Ridge at all and just had a giant Eastern CONUS trough, how would storms come up the coast?
NC would get slammed.

They aren't wrong on that piece-Forky also noted that the strong PAC jet is flattening the PNA ridge. The marine heatwave east of Japan has been a bit problematic in that regard. Would think a split flow with a juicy STJ would be ideal but that's more a nino theme. I would also like to see a weak SE ridge to keep the thermal gradient in play....but we do have the cold unlike some recent decembers with 50-60 degrees everyday-no chance there.

We always need a lot to work in our favor for snow here. When we had a good Pacific other recent years, the Atlantic sucked. Things evening out after the fantastic stretch of years we had.

That's what spoiled us.  I think some (I'm a bit guilty) just expected big winters....   Once in a 100 year run 2009-2018

Don't beieve anything Forky says either.
He actually believes global warming has become so strong that it can't snow here any more.

Never mind that we are going to threaten record lows from 1902 out here tonight!

I loved my xmas eve miracle on December 2013 from a very heavy snow squall at night, dropped two inches in a matter of 20 minutes, problem is it was so cold that about an inch and a half evaporated because it was so fluffy, kind of like the fake snow buffalo gets from lake effect.
