It owes us the 4-6" from last storm. Lets hope its onto something. Snow ratios would be through the roof in this arctic pattern.

Chasing 0.005" of QPF sounds all too familiar

I think the models are having a really hard time with current observations. Rapidly weakening La Niña, mjo 8, -qbo, weak pv , etc. there’s so much for the models to take in.

I think Ben Solo said 12/10-12/20 initially. I think that’s where storms start to show up on models once they figure out the pattern. Especially after 12/15. We have no shortage of cold air. It will snow.

Before that, the parade of clippers is interesting next week. If something does pop, I think it will be short notice. I would not be surprised to see a IVT/Norlun occur with one of these. I think there’s fun times ahead, not so distant future.

Down where I am in Burlington County we’re usually sitting in the first week of January waiting for that first weakening of the PV. And hoping by late January it influences the pattern. We’ve already had that, we’re way ahead of the game.

In the super near term, me, Ben Solo, maybe Ray get a coating to an inch Friday. Maybe so squalls for everyone Thursday pm.

6 degrees here. Tonight we play the game of how low can you go?

28.6 and ice on the lake for the first time this year.

25* here ....brrrrrr.

24.4 for the low

20251204_070230.jpg

25.6 for Muttontown & 26.1 for Syosset for the low. Expect teens tomorrow morning.

Quite frosty here this AM-winter definitely settling in.

Low was 2 here. It got cloudy or it would have been colder.

the record lows out there must be insane....what would be a record for today's date? -10?

An arctic front moves through later today with maybe a couple snow flurries. We turn windy and cold behind the front with highs today in the mid-30's and lows tonight will be near records levels for some stations with shorter periods of record with lows by tomorrow morning in the mid-teens. We remain in the upper 20's for highs tomorrow with a chance especially across Southern Chester County for some light snow or flurries during the afternoon. While still well below normal we do warm back up to the upper 30's for the weekend before the coldest weather of the season arrives on Monday. No significant storms over the next week.

We were 3 at midnight. Too bad it got cloudy, because we could have been about -6 without clouds.
