Question?..is phase 8 of the MJO -PNA and +EPO?..or that's just part of the equation?

- WPO P8 will keep us cold.

I like the clipper type not the ku type

-EPO is better for the Northeast than -WPO. -WPO favors the midwest more for snow.

I just have gotten a light coating before it melted because I still see a couple of small white patches on some soil.

Impressive

I think that's why it's been consistently colder/snowier out here than intially progged.

Wednesday night looked like rain showers, now it's looking more like accumulating snow.

I’ll gladly take some light or moderate snowfalls with consistent cold. Wintry feel

Got glazed deck & front steps from ice & some snow!

Where do we go from p8?

Looking back, 1993-94 had really no blocking until the end of the winter.

Maybe that's why it started a bit late and the first snow event was a clipper.

We had a lot of overunning that year and finally got a big coastal in March when we got a little blocking.

You can have a very good winter without a ton of blocking, but blocking is more important in December.
