Looks much better there than on Tidbits, as does Pivotal

A lot of that has to do with past precip, current temps. The temp at 18z is being used for all the precip that falls from 12z-18z on many of those graphics. But the temp from 12z-15z (7-10 am) for example should be a lot colder than 18z. So looking hour by hour should be best for resolving precip type around here tomorrow morning.

Gfs back to flurries for the weekend.

Thats good to see. Keeps us in the game.

GFS is terrible. To much chaos atmospherically in this transition month for it to handle.

The warmup looks like a cutter reset to me.

The WPO will kick a piece of the cold trough out of W Canada .

Its further E this run which should kick the trough east by Xmas

Whatever falls this weekend will get washed away b4 Xmas anyways

And just like that, big cold shots are showing up in the middle of the warmup.

Who woulda thunk?

This is the polar opposite of the winters of 21-22 and 22-23 where the warmth ruled and any cold shots were muted/short

Right and that's why proper pattern recognition is important from about Halloween onward.

When you see which type of air mass dominates, always doubt models that show the opposite, especially beyond 200 hours.

The GFS run makes no sense in the LR - --WPO - EPO ? then digs the trough into Baja setting up a monster cutter by Xmas.

Im not buying it
