The only thing about that map is that the ECMWF forecast lows are always way too cold for our area in the long term, which affects the overall calculation. Sort of what I brought up last winter about the ECMWF Weeklies which have us with below normal surface temperatures in winter, irrespective of anything else. The five day 850 mb temperature EPS anomalies for the same time period are a few degrees Celsius above normal for us. Probably wont be long before the CPC outlooks have us in the above normal temperature forecasts.
