All I want is my average. Not all that hard but the last 5 years its been like pulling teeth. 20" used to happen reliably here now breaking 10 inches seems like putting a man on the moon.

You haven't lived here enough years to know if there are cycles like that and I can't find any data on the NWS pages.

If you look through the NYC snowfall page, they had 5 and 6 year periods with very little snow.

I imagine it happens everywhere. Then you'll get cycles with a lot of snow.

Look at the stats for lincoln. They go back 100+ years. There's never been a stretch this bad before. Up until recently 20 inches was pretty reliable.

Yea but look all the way back if this year stays under 10 its an unheard of 5 year stretch. A 20-30 inch winter is more reliable here than it was when I was living on Long Island. And we didn't get it with one or two big storms it was always with a bunch of 1-3/2-4 events abd maybe one 6 inch event. We'd actually have solid snow cover too. The last 5 years have had none of that. In 2022-23 most of it fell in February from 1 storm. Same in 2023-24. After both of those we torched and it was gone.
