We're in a La Nina transitioning to an El Nino.
Your analog summers would be 1998, 2009, 2015, and 2023.

Not a very hot composite, IMO

    Too many years on that list that are from too far back when averages were lower.

    When you compare that list to the latest 30 year average it will produce a very cold looking map.

    Can you reproduce this image using 1961-1990 averages?

    Im expecting another blast furnace summer here. We dont get big time negative departures anymore. Its always a massive inferno.

    Well you can either go drink yourself to death or go enjoy the weather.

    I personally prefer the latter. I've been walking outside, driving with the windows open.
