February 18Feb 18 2 individual 6 inch snowstorms in the month of December which I have never seen before. The coldest average temperature 7,14,21 days after a snowstorm of over 4 inches for New York City Central Park. 19 consecutive minimum temperatures of at least 19 or lower for Islip setting an all-time record. The most solid snow cover given the fact that there was only 2.5 inches of replenishment over a more than 3 week period. I give this winter an A and we still have March to go through. As much as I love 2 foot snowstorms with blizzard conditions, it really loses its cluster when it warms up and the snow rapidly melts. To get to see snow cover like we have had is something that is so rare along the coast, and given the fact it was so dry after the January storm, but we still kept the snow cover for longer than the greatest blizzards to hit us is very impressive. Around our entire area, we have the greatest consecutive number of days of snowfall with the lowest amount of snow that we have had meaning all of the great snow cover winters had in some cases more than twice the amount of snow that some of us have had so far. Given the fact that this has been one of the driest winters on record here that is even more impressive. This is the equivalent of a football player, throwing for 300 yards in 1 quarter like Doug Williams did in the 1988 Super Bowl. It’s like a major league baseball player getting 40 home runs in 150 at bats. It’s like a basketball player scoring 60 points in a half.
February 18Feb 18 Democrats set up a dictatorship in Virginia by ensuring that lawsuits can be heard in partisan courts through the redistricting amendments they passed last year without a governor signature. Russia level corruption.
February 19Feb 19 I'm going to rate this winter when we get our last snowfall...that might be in April...It will be compared to the last 70 winters with a point system...first place in a category is 70 points...last place one point...I've chosen ave temp from Dec-Feb...total seasonal snowfall...biggest snowfall...1" snow depth days...coldest temp...total max days 32 or lower...I could add or take away some categories or give them a different weight...1947-48 usually would win but I'm not going back that far...anyone have any other suggestions?...

February 19Feb 19 And maybe number of events over a certain threshold, like 4 inches for example. The best winters had many events of moderate size.

February 19Feb 19 These missed big dogs have at least been good time fillers between doing stuff at work and down time at home. It makes the month go by quicker.

Might have been boring the past 25 days, but since I like snow cover and like it to actually be cold in the winter, having 30 straight days of it has been awesome. I'll 100% remember it. It has been a top 5 snow cover season. This storm and the earlier one this month not being big stinks, but that only prevented this being a possible top 5 winter.

I admit it was exciting to see those huge outputs, but them being 150 hours out didn't really get the bloodflow working, hahaAlso, maybe being 47, I've finally matured a little and don't let these things bother me as much anymore.Yep - I'm 45 and am kind of like, "oh well". Skiing a lot helps because I feel like I've made the most (and you can always drive north and get the fix). The close in busts (like as the event is unfolding) still piss me off though, but not nearly as much as they used to. Too much sh*t to do at our ages!
