December 14, 2025Dec 14 Hey @Analog1888 winter goes off the rails here this week. Holy hell that GFS run was horrific. About to throw un the towel and give up. December will finish close to normal and maybe above and January will be near record warmth. What a shitshow.
December 14, 2025Dec 14 After this winter my 5 year rolling average will fall to between 10 and 15 inches. We dont get winter here anymore.
December 14, 2025Dec 14 Holy f***. I cant take this endless NW flow anymore. Its endless. The last 4 ******* winters have been nothing but ******* NW flow. Remember when we used to get bowling ball lows out of the CO area? Now its just strung out POS storms from the northern stream that always underperform with their mediocre 50 to 100 miles wide band of snow. I swear every time I look at the models I not only anticipate disappointment and letdown but I expect it. Every winter with the exception of 18-19 and 20-21 has found of new way to kick me in the balls with cleats.

December 14, 2025Dec 14 Seriously we used to get winters loaded with CO lows, panhandle hooks and Miller As. All 3 of those storm tracks are rare now. All we get now are strung out pieces of shit that underperform.

December 14, 2025Dec 14 Author 3 minutes ago, Snowlover76 said:LMAO whats your reasoning behind that? The cold air is on our side of the pole. If you look historically at warm winters, they almost unilaterally occurred when the cold air was on the other side of the pole.Basic pattern recognition- the cold has verified stronger than the warmth this season. It's going to be near 10 Friday morning inside our torch pattern.Another SSW is occurring right now. The first one brought our cold December. The polar vortex is also weak and split into muiltple parts. That does not favor sustained warmth either. The MJO is going to reemerge in cold phases. Now what's your reasoning for warmth? I'll wait.
December 17, 2025Dec 17 Arguably the most famous star cluster, the Pleiades, or the “Seven Sisters,” which I recently reprocessed through Pixinsight. What I love about the Sony Starvis 2 sensor, I don’t overexpose, boost saturation, or alter color channels to make it eye-candy, as is often done with mono data (>95% of non-modded scopes) that is later artificially colorized. This image is straight out of the telescope, with only denoising, histogram stretching, and deconvolution applied. Pure natural color.

December 18, 2025Dec 18 This winter is such a ******* train wreck. Every model run gets worse and more disappointing with the depression and angst. Even if we get 25" of snow this winter my 5 year average goes to like 13" Winter doesn't exist here anymore.
