Had to have a job lined up just to come here pre 1965. There wasn't a welfare state that "immigrants" use today. Immigrants today treat America like an economic zone. They dont assimilate. We are just their host.

My one grandfather was a chemist. My other grandfather had certifications in just about everything, but settled on owning a restaurant. I dont think women were required to work back then if they were already married. And my grandmothers were born here anyway.

My grandfather went back to Greece once- to fix some papers with the Greek military. He said all the Greeks there were begging him for money. When he got on the plane to go back to America, he vowed to never return to Greece. And he never did.
