Caldwell 21 is finished. 9.3 hours of integration time. It is a dwarf irregular galaxy about 12.5 million light years away. I kind of feel bad for it; it probably gets bullied by all the other galaxies.

The Owl Nebula, about 2,600 light years away, formed from a star with a mass similar to the Sun that ran out of hydrogen fuel, leaving behind a hot core. NASA claims this is an example or a preview of what our Sun may look like in about 5 billion years. 4.3 hours of integration time.

Been there a few times. It seems like the easier path, because the mountains are not as steep, until you get 90 mph cross winds.

The frustration of localized squalls... I missed out by a few miles, maybe 5, to my north for most of the best squalls this afternoon, now an area developing to the west that may miss me by a mile south.

This is why I laugh at people who think self driving trucks will work. Yea like they'll work out here where 60 MPH cross wind gusts are common and you get high winds for much of the year. They've closed highways to semis over wind pretty often here.

Even though my sensor is already color accurate, I used GAIA data from the European Space Agency to take the calibration a step further. This makes the blue hues from stars and the gentle red hydrogen gas easier to see. I also applied a slightly more aggressive stretch to bring out fainter details, at the expense of a bit more noise.

I hardly ever watched this show when I was a child but now, I'm catching up on it...It was on a Sunday night live from NY from 1950 to about 1968...
