someone sent me a clip from Lonnie Quinn 😂 😂 about years ending in 6 being lucky for us.. pointing out huge NYC snow events in 96, 06, 16, and now potentially 26.. never thought about that.. I don’t think we’re repeating a 20+ inch event here…. Yet

Sorry if the below comes off negative, just needed to rant a bit. Still hoping for 8 inches at worst but starting to even lose hope we get that much. Whoever does get that and more, enjoy it!

This happens to me everytime even with the little voice in my head saying don't believe it or be cautious. Get a little hopeful when models show a SW flow event with a too late of a coastal transfer outside of 6 hours lead time in modeling giving me 8 plus totals only to end up being a miracle if I meet warning criteria.

-NAO, +PNA, -EPO, 50/50 (did we lose any of these favorable indices that I am not aware of?) and we still get what in actuality is a cutter since coastal transfer is too late, weak and too far north. Nothing crashing into the west coast on the goofus to wreck the flow yet here we are. A cutter into bitter cold arctic air even with the indices saying it should not be possible.

Goofus always caves warm in this situation and I was overjoyed last night at 0z when it did not yet cave and similarly at 6z. Euro not much better once it caves at 12z. Same Ole story for these type of storms.

NAM had it pegged like it always does when it says warmer and less snow and more sleet/rain. Canadians last day or so too save for 1 or 2 colder runs and they will follow NAM/Icon/Goofus at 12z if they ever even run.

Overall I am fine with 5 or 6 inches at this point. Who I am kidding, 4 would be joyous. Any snow is good snow. I live across a less than 2 mile wide river from the worst UHI on the planet I should be jumping for joy if I get any snow.😂

Analog has a real problem. The guy in New Jersey has a different opinion with him about national weather service but it’s so minor and analog goes after him as if he cursed his whole family. It’s like you can’t disagree with him. What the hell is his problem?

I really hate that you know everybody hasn’t different thought and just leave it at that just say I disagree move on but analog has to fight to the death over every little thing every time.
