Agree on the missing the bigger one though I did get 6" on 12/14, up to 15.7" on the season on 10 events which is damn good sitting here on Jan 2nd. Looking forward to a short break from the cold as walking the dog on these days is not always "fun", couple days in the 40s, maybe touch 50 will feel good. Hoping the -EPO pans out and the pattern reshuffle lines us up for at least one area wide 6+" event as we move into mid-winter.

As I had mentioned yesterday some models were hinting at some snow showers overnight and we did indeed see some overnight which as many have mentioned recoated drives across the area. Here in East Nantmeal we picked up 0.3" of snow (our 8th winter event of the season). We continue with well below normal temperatures through Monday but then see a nice warmup with temperatures trending well above normal for much of next week. Overall the next week or so looks dry with maybe a snow shower chance Saturday night.

I would be worried if we had a warmup like what happened in Jan 2020 and 2023...

Now we have a pull back yes and a reload in the works.

I got a dusting last night...probably 0.1 or 0.2"...

I don't think the number matters, as much as the duration.

For example, I'd rather have two days of 70 than 10 days of 55.

While I agree no one should be complaining about winter thus far but note that not all of us have your beautiful blanket of snow for days on end to enjoy with the deep cold.

Right now, mostly everything is bare for me here to your east and has been that way since that very foggy snow-eater day after the last significant snowfall.

In 2025 I’ve had close to a month of snow cover across both seasons

That HP would freeze your eyelids shut!

Gfs and cmc have some of us near or in the 60s next weekend…. Wouldn’t be awful for a day or 2 like @Analog1888 said

Still crunching the annual climate numbers for the other Chesco stations but at least here in East Nantmeal our average temperature for 2025 was 52.4 degrees this is the 5th coldest year in my 22 years at this location and the coldest since the 51.7 in 2013.
