  • Yes. I'm back. The last 90 plus days were very difficult. Between my father and own health issues I needed a long break and medicine to help me get back on track. I'm here as long as I feel good.

  • It would be great if we could keep everything here. Threads are much easier to follow, and the continuity really matters. This has become the best weather forum on the internet—hands down—and I’d hate

There is so much energy out there. I'd be shocked if not at least one storm. Comes from all this.. as of right now, thursday just looks like snow showers at best hopefully things will change.

the coastal and the moisture to our west do not hook up, so its showers changing to light snow or flurries as it ends favoring upstate for some accumulation, maybe with the front we get a squall who knows.

Another year another wasted prime snow month. I rather have warm weather and sun if this is the case.

It's a function of living in the mid-latitudes. Every winter has a 20-30 day period with very little snow, even the best winters.

From January 12, 1996 it did not snow appreciably again until Feb 2.

It happens.

I Can't complain had a well above normal snow month in december

One thing that looks for certain is some brutal shots of arctic air in the next 10-15 days though any appreciable precip (not much) maybe more with the transient warmer periods between arctic shots.

Temperatures today and tomorrow will be a couple degrees above normal for mid-January with highs in the mid to upper 40's. Clouds increase later today and tomorrow with a chance of rain tomorrow evening changing to snow around midnight before ending toward Thursday morning. Any accumulations look light, but we will need to keep an eye out for some potential Thursday morning rush hour impacts. Highs on both Thursday and Friday will remain in the 20's. Below normal temperatures appear likely for much of the next week with lows next week in the single digits possible for some areas.
