The ICON was ******* great too. People made it sound like it was gonna show sleet to Albany.

You and me are on the good side of the gradient

Frank, Solo, and Commie are not - it's understandable

Joshua is right. You guys had four lousy winters in a row. Most of you, at very worst, will get 6-8" and then HEAVY sleet, maybe ending as some snow.

This is NOTHING to complain about, even if the worst case scenario happened.

EWR is always right on the line, it seems.

God I have missed this place being so active! What a wild ride this one has been.

My parents live in Roxbury by plattekill told them to expect 18-24+

It's an awesome area - I took the back roads last weekend from Belleayre over Slide Mountain, dumped me out near Monticello. Claryville/Frost Valley area are particularly spectacular.

The ski resorts themselves are going to get 24+

Sick winter for them

Yeah, it did bump north about 25 miles though. That did cut totals in half from long island back to me. 06z Icon had me near 20", 12z around 9". Much of Long Island 14" at 06z to 7-8". It is the ICON, so I don't care really lol

I'm riding right on it depending on which model, but even the "bad" ones I'm at like 6-8" with sleet, which I don't mind at all.

Yeah, what makes this storm better is that it's followed by cold air as far as the eye can see

It's not like the storms where N&W gets 8", Ben Solo gets sleet/rain, and a few days later is progged 50 and rain ("It's gonna melt for you peasants anyway")

RRFS at 850.. sustained LLJ without getting flooded by warmth… you’ll notice the places where 850s surge how the winds go due southerly at that level.. there’s a massive 30-40 kt east to southeasterly LLJ that just plows through the tight gradient and the column holds cold and steady enough for NYC metro

For real. I have an atv that I plow with, but 100% will be helping my elderly neighbors out even though they have some beast snow blowers. Pushing the blowers with heavier snow at 75 years old is still pretty tough work
