FYI at hour 48 on the 12z ICON the SW energy is still closed while it was already open at 6z.

So many things can effect snow ratios, I just use the 10:1 maps and make my own adjustments. Even things people don't think of, like storm origin and badning vs subsidence areas have effects on ratios.

The NBM is actually snowier... 19.1" at EWR from 1.50" QPF. I expected it to cut back and it went up!

That says it's the 6z run

if the temperatures are in the low 20's ratios can be 15-1 or higher...even with some sleet it could still be 10-1 overall...

12z ICON at hour 72 getting pressed more on the NW side

I'm sticking with 12:1 ratios for the time being, at least for my area.

We'll see tomorrow when the meso features are more clear to nail down.

I know, I just thought it would cut back because of the warm models we've seen.

There must be a lot of cold ens products if that's the case.

Parent low is getting crushed on the 12z ICON at 78 compared to 6z, next couple frames important

the block is trending stronger today...lets see if that holds...

Catskills/Berkshires/Southern Greens/Whites are going to get absolutely destroyed by this thing.

18-24" amounts likely there, IMO - lollis to 30

What an amazing period upcoming for the skis (been a pretty great winter thus far)

It's hard to believe by looking at surface maps but I think the 12z ICON was a bit of an improvement overall with the evolution of the system compared to 6z.
