What I like is that the northern stream trended much more amplified compared to the overnight runs - it would have been a much better run if the southern shortwave was slightly faster.

it is a northern stream dominated model, we must keep that in mind. No matter what they do to it. DNA is DNA

Side by side comparison of the correction we'd need on the GFS - Euro is much more phased over the Midwest, while the slower shortwave has prevented that this run of the GFS. Many outcomes still possible.

This is true, maybe that's why it was good with the last storm. This is more the type of storm the ECMWF is good at.
