And your friend P. B. called Jan 15 - Feb 15 from early January. Not too shabby. Next period Feb 20 - March 10. Going to run this winter BN wire to wire November - March. Just crazy

I'm going to slightly downplay it lol only because Islip's records don't go back very far. Most (not all) of the really cold years were before the station became operational.

Well, you don’t have to do it for Islip because the same thing applies to New York City Central Park. I looked at every 6 inch snowfall since I was born in 1966 and even the foreign snow falls and nothing has lasted like this after the storm and with such dry conditions. This is by far the coldest stretch. we’ve have had after a snowstorm and it’s not even close and it’s been for a long time now.

It’s highly likely none of us will see this again in our lifetime.

Wait weren't you talking about longest stretches below 20 degrees for lows at Islip?

I don't think the GFS or AIFS really ever bit that this would impact us, they consistently were south

Aifs were a hit yesterday?

Euro AI was full on plowable event, no sure AIFS ever went there. Of course now 12z GFS brings accumulation to central NJ. All these models have problems, not sure how much we have progressed in last 5+ years.

A favorable pattern coming next week ?

Starting to see some puddles now, tomorrow and Sunday really should put a dent in the pack

Yes, I was talking about the temperature, but I also talk about the snowpack too and when you look at both, it really is impressive and one of the most impressive things I’ve seen during any winter.

Euro has a bit of light snow for the board Sunday night but not as far north as the AI

Quite the flip flopper after being rock steady with our major snowstorm last month.

EPS also bumped north a bit
