I got robbed since I was forced to be in the poconos for that storm, if I was at my fathers on Staten Island I would’ve experienced greatness.

You get close to 100 inches now. No big deal.

And your friend P. B. called Jan 15 - Feb 15 from early January. Not too shabby. Next period Feb 20 - March 10. Going to run this winter BN wire to wire November - March. Just crazy

Ok I accept and this was an A winter & I hope it repeats next year- 60” -WOW

We could get 1-2 Tuesday, but after that, it looks over. Doesn't mean we can't get a sneaky event, but it wouldn't be for a while, if at all.

A+

For me it’s all about early low sun angle sustained snowfall and we got that in December with two storms followed by several smaller mid sized events in Jan leading up to the MECs with weeks of cold and cover followed up with a HECs to close things out. Can’t ask for much more. I could give a rats arse about March. It melts a day later without cloud cover and cold but bonus inches are always good.

I’m actually glad we got the HECS when we did. Give me 30 inches of snow and then a melt. All this sitting around would’ve started to get real annoying in the city.

Reading the NY Times archive made no mention of the storm the day before. Seems that a low off the southeast coast moved right to the 'benchmark.'

the forecast was for snow flurries...the post office delivered mail that day...I didn't get mail until two days after this storm...another Dec 26th storm measured 18" in 1872...

MJO running to Phase 7 and 8. SPV split and it looks to couple with the troposphere. One lobe going into E CAN and one over to Siberia. You aren't ending winter with this guy's. You'll have a second half of March winter if these happen. Around March 15hish is when this may kick in for a good 2 weeks.
