Snow mixing in. Big flakes.

Good luck to you. I believe you go to end up with at least 4 inches.

Heavy rain here

Temp 53

After today, you can pretty much give the continental U.S. radars the rest of the week off.

32.9/31.9

Think we are all snow now in the north hills. Grass starting to get covered.

Every freaking time the SPC issues a very strongly-worded tornado watch, it busts.

Every. Freaking. Time..

(I am talking about in the northeast, not tornado alley)

Impressive radar south to north

I was never big on the tornado threat today, because surface instability was minimal, and even the turning with height wind vectors didn't exactly scream tornado potential.

Half inch of rain in 10 minutes, heaviest rain I’ve seen since late New Year’s Eve 2024. The downpour was blinding, but it’s going to wash away all of the dirt that is still under the ground from the piles that sat for such a long time this winter. This is truly a good cleaning rainfall.

How about the big winds we are supposed to get I’m guessing they will come later on right before the front gets here

Not the finest moment from the NWS to wait until now to do this

How much do you have so far? Are you getting into the really intense banding?

Look at the latest HRRR and how it strengthens the 850 mb jet after 0Z.

Close to 1". Best banding is just to my west but is pushing in. Guessing we finish with around 3-4" out this way since steady snow should continue until about 10 pm here.

Well, that’s a good snowfall for you this time of year. Hopefully people won’t drive insane and there won’t be any accidents.

I think you may get a big burst of winds right with, or just ahead of, the fropa.

Roads are caving here. Still about 3 hours left to go. Best banding now beginning to move in.

Amazing how fast the roads cave whenever rates pick up. Nice little winter surprise
