WOW 1918-19 was probably the worst winter in history then!

Especially for back then the 3.8 inches of snow they got for the season must have been shockingly low.

I count 24 winters where there was accumulating snow in November between 1870 and 1918. The city's snowfall season was longer then.

The biggest snow was on March 28, that has similarities to1998

What's crazy is that there is only 7 winters in 50 years of records leading up to the 1918-1919 winter that were under 20 inches! Let alone under 10.

I wish we could have those type of seasons back. Longer, colder, and more consistent snowfall. I like seeing frequent snowfalls.

I get most of my excitement from watching snow falling. So the more events the better.

There was a more recent period like that, basically from 1959-1972, where winters were pretty consistent.

Today is the 100th day with a low temp of 32 or lower. That’s a personal best for me. Hopefully we can get one more snowfall in April, doesn’t have to be huge, but if we can get an inch two hour would be very happy.

Some IMG_6523.jpegIMG_6520.jpegnice convective snow showers/squalls today.

21 this morning.

22 this morning. I won’t see these temps again until December most likely.

24 at my stations this morning.

The RGEM has lows in the low 70s area wide for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning unless you're out east on LI.

That's the kind of crap heat that pisses me off.

That's one nice thing about out here. USUALLY, except the most humid days of the year, we get cool nights, even when the day is hot.

I think we get early heat this Spring...we already got the earliest 80 degree day on record for NYC...
