Now do the insane warmth that hit like 2/3rds of the country.

I don't think he has made a single heat related post in his entire life. He'd be posting 10 times more often if he did.

why when you guys love to harp on global heat but ignore the fact that there are areas seeing crazy cold.

IMG_5399.jpegI haven’t seen the sky like that in a very long time even last year I didn’t get any big thunderstorms. We’ll see what happens with this if it develops further maybe we’ll get a downpour.

If each of us posted only when either it was heat records or cold records, I'd be posting 10 times more often than you.

The thing that annoys me is the fact that free all the warm winters that we had that’s all people talked about the states at the west didn’t exist, even when they were getting record and near record snowfall during a couple of those years. Now all of a sudden people are talking about the wet and yes, the warmth has been impressive. There’s no doubt about it but at the same time, I don’t live over there.

True I didn’t have temperatures in the 90s in March but at West they didn’t have to dig out of a foot of snow and sleet and it was like a glacier back in January.

Regardless of what happened out west or what happens now it doesn’t take away from the fact that we had a very cold winter

Bro it was a solid below normal winter. You just haven't had one in over decade and you forgot how it is.

Very cold? We weren't even in the top 40 coldest winters!

It wasn’t a “solid” winter it was epic out here. I had 66 inches of snow. I had 19 consecutive days with a low temperature was 19 or below. The cold after the January 25 snowstorm was the coldest 7,14 and 21 day periods AFTER a significant snowstorm by a large margin and my 10 inch snowpack survived for 26 days with only 2.6 inches of replenishment. I had 29 inches of snow during the blizzard. I had two storms in December that were at least 6 inches which I have never seen before. I cannot think of another winter where December, January and February were as good as that was in my experience.

I took issue with your "very cold," which I think is exaggerating.

It was a solidly cold winter. But there were 42 winters colder than that.

Don’t forget I don’t live in the 5 Boroughs anymore. It was colder where I am than where you were.

The 19 consecutive days with a low temperature was at least 19 or lower at Islip broke therecord of 17 consecutive days set in February 1979 and the third most was in January 1977.

I don’t care what anybody says. To break records from the 1970s is pretty damn cold to me.

This. 1 post about cold, 500 about heat. That 1 post gets shit on. Its exhausting.

It got to the point unless its record breaking, no one cares. Sad

It was an epically consistently cold winter that featured 4 to 6 snow storms, depending on where you live that acted like a great World Series beginning with a great opening game one and ending with a fantastic finale series winning blizzard.

Need a wind advisory topping over 40 here.

We will have more than two inches of rain by the time all is said and done this morning.

We haven't had that much in an entire MONTH since August!

Your records out there go only as far back as the 1960s.

And ranking go by local averages. Your averages are obviously colder. You don't compare them to mine.

I will bet my life the majority of winters pre 1960s in the Islip area were colder than the one you just had.

Every station in the Northeast that has records going farther back indicate that.

Don't be childish. There are 500 posts about heat because THAT'S WHAT THE WORLD CONSISTENTLY GIVES US.

Find me 500 cold events and they will be posted. Why don't you post them?

It's like you get one winning hand at the blackjack table and that's all you talk about and then get mad when we bring up the fact that you're actually in debt now and you've lost 100 hands in totality.

You want to see stupid-type levels of climate change bias talk? Go to the other place. That's not what's happening here. I just bust Jivesnow balls because he never learned physics.
