I'm just saying if you dropped me out of a spaceship and I had to use one model to make a forecast, I'd pick the GFS before the GGEM.

I would pick Euro - AI, Euro, GFS- AI

I wasn't mentioning the Euro or the AI models, I was only picking between the GFS and GGEM.

GFS and Euro AI's pretty much have zero warmth here thru 15 days. Almost entire period 1000-500mb thickness under 540 on both. Think CPC will pull back any AN trends for NE for remainder of this month. It just wants to stay cold and -NAO not budging till March or later. We may lose PNA+ but NAO will keep cold locked in.

Euro ai has been hinting at the 11th for days now

72 hours looks like a decent burst of snow for the metro.

Snow up to 2", tropical force wind gusts 40mph plus, and extreme cold- wind chills -20 is just glorious....🥶🧊😂 Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. No?

Update: The snow depth for Philadelphia remains at 5" as of 7 AM Thursday, which is now an 11 consecutive day stretch with 5" or more snow depth. Thus, it is now a top 10 longest stretch and the longest such stretch since 2010!

Anyone see the 18z Euro/AI for the storm between the 11th & Valentine’s Day!

Today was the 13th consecutive day at Islip where the maximum temperature was either 32 or below. The record is 16 consecutive days set back in February 1979 and if it stays at freezing or below on Monday that will be day 17 and that will be a new record for Islip.
