    the only reason the gfs was able to sniff this is out is the same reason it is a bad model, northern stream bias towards speed

    it was probably RUSHING the northern piece into the phase which is why it was showing a storm when no one else was

    GFS with a slightly more amped ridge out west & more digging with the trough so far compared to 12z
