    coldest sst so far...la nina is here...lets hope it maintains itself thru the winter...its forecast to be neutral by January which would make this event neutral overall...no -0.5 oni for DJF please...

    no -0.5 or -0.6...-0.5 had no big winters and -0.6 had an average one with the duds...

    it's OK if it's below .7.... you don't want it like 1.5... but 2010-11 was like -1.2 and 1995-96 was -0.8

    DJF ONI....blue years are good to great...black is acceptable to normal...red sucked...some duds  were very cold like 62-63 and 70-71...edit...75-76 and 22-23 added...should be red...

    ASO oni was -0.5...down from -0.3 the month before...last week's oni was at -0.7...we are in a weak la nina now...-0.7 would be nice for the DJF period...forecasts have it from -0.6 to -0.4...-0.4 would be a good number...

    hovering around -0.8 now...hope it stays like that thru the winter...
