Grade the winter of 2025/26

For me B+

Out here D-

where I live on Staten Island it's an A+...I can't speak for other areas...I going to rate the winter for NYC by comparing it with past winters...it will be done on a point system...If I go back 70 years this one would be in the top ten best...

A. If I get to 50", A+. 1.5" to go.

Cold A. I think 4 lows below zero, Dec-Feb below average

Snowcover A+ Lost count of the days, but over 40. Entire month of February I believe had snowcover.

Total snow A. Was pretty well spread out too even with some dry spells.

I’d give it an A. Thought we’d get 35-40” and beat that. Missed the blizzard bands, being in the subsidence, otherwise I’d give it an A+. The staying power of the cold air was something this winter though with BN all 3 months. Great winter for the NE.

In the East, A/A+ borderline. Solid A+ if they get one more moderate event.

Out here, yeah D/F. I could go to a C- if it somehow gets snowy from mid March and goes for a month, but I doubt that.

You had an 8" SECS. My biggest storm was 2".

6" here we usuallyget those every year with a bunch of 1-3/2-4 inch events mixed in. And it was melted down to a few inches the next day because the ground was so warm. Not complaining but this overall was a pretty lame winter.

The persistent warmth this winter drags it down the most.

I had 2" when you had that. My biggest storm was probably on Black Friday and Saturday.

It was in the 70s multiple times in February. Theres really not much of a way to polish this ***** of a winter if you're west of Des Moines
