JB says mix of 95/96 and 14-15

the snowy el nino winters had a neg ao and nao a lot...these had major storms a foot or more...

1957-58...very cold Feb...

1963-64...cold December...

1968-69...cold December...

1977-78...cold Jan/Feb...

1982-83...blocking in Feb for big storm...

2002-03...Cold Jan/Feb...

2004-05...Cold Jan...

2009-10...plenty of blocking...

2015-16...strong blocking for Jan Blizzard...

1965-66 had a cold and snowy month with strong blocking...KU storm south...same goes for 1986-87...

1982-83 and 2015-16 were mild but had that one memorable storm...

I'm not expecting a winter as cold as last year, or as snowy but it can still happen that way...
