JCPL says it will be back on the 7th

Crazy

Rain is mixing down about 65MPH here. South and west of me had radar returns of 80+

Insane color output lighting up on the radar to the north of the fireworks festivities.

I am in Porto, Portugal watching on CNN as it is all I have on the TV here lol. DVR'ing Macy's fireworks back home. Will be here in Porto, Portugal for the World Cup epic match up Spain vs Portugal. I was in Lisbon for the 2018 same world cup match up now I am here in Porto for it in 2026. Can't wait for that!

2nd half of my wife and I and one other couple's San Sébastian, Spain, Bordeaux, France, Porto/Lisbon Portugal 2 week trip. Wine and food heaven. Basque cuisine is uniquely delicious. Missed the Europe heat wave and will also miss the US heat wave lucky for me. Mainly 80's so far everywhere we've been and will be rest of the time here in Portugal and when I return home on 7/11.

It’s a state park so it’s a little bit different because they don’t have tolls 24 hours a day. And they don’t have thousands of cars coming here every day either.

I can see the fireworks to the north, as well as the cloud the ground lightning from the thunderstorm that’s going to pass north of here. That’s pretty cool. That’s something you don’t get to see often at all.

Glen Cove reported a hurricane force wind gust at 0032Z, even though storms were only over the Long Island Sound. I have heard of gust fronts, but not those that produce hurricane force winds.

Northport Yacht Club - 67 mph wind gust.

IMG_6206.pngThis is the best bolt I caught. That’s the Captre fishing pier. The lightning is miles away. Just incredible with the fireworks displays.
