The only issue is that CO, IL, and CA can eliminate every Republican district without it becoming a dummymander before 2028. Every red state would need to redraw immediately, including Texas again.

From a technical standpoint, doesn't the GOP have more room to gain seats via redistricting since Democrats had already perfected and implemented the craft and of gerrymandering across several states?

If Republican states were to redistrict, and CA, CO, and IL responded, as they are planning to according to state leaders, we would currently be looking at something like a 213D to 204R with 18 tossup map. This assumes IN, KS, and NE don't redraw because they didn't have the votes. Democrats simply have more room to gerrymander without it being a dummymander.

Now if Texas were to retaliate against CA, the map would be 209-209

Democrats technically have nothing to respond to. They held on to DEI-gerrymandered districts in the South that should never have been there in the first place.
