I believe what he means it’s the fact that they assimilate to being an American, maybe not exactly like us but they try and a lot of them are pretty good with that. A lot of the Indians, especially the ones coming in now think that Jines Beach is Chopati beach.

The Indian family I know doesn’t fit that description. Try hanging around classier people who do assimilate.

I am looking at it as a family who owns a tech business, makes an upper class to wealthy yearly salary, put two daughters to college, happy he moved here many years ago, and still has much of his family in India.

When immigrants don’t break laws, or infringe upon our “norms”, they can keep their communities to our standards, I am satisfied.

Know tons of Indian families being from around here. Most are fine and totally interact like "Americans." I do see enough though that are as how he described and are probably the ones throwing statues in the rivers here lol. In the same vain, large portions of towns that have all signage in Chinese, Hebrew, Spanish, etc, that have been that way for decades, would we say they are assimilating or not since they aren't letting go of their old country? There could be a fine line of assimilating and keeping up with old customs vs bringing your country here and not changing.

It's fine to bring food to this country. It's fine to bring music and religious traditions to this country.

What's not fine is:
-expecting others to learn your language

-doing things simply because "that's how we do it in my country"

-not learning rules, regulations, and customs of your new country and expecting other people to learn yours.

Theyre Christian and many serve in the military. And a lot want to be American. Indians and Muslims live in insular communities and dont assimilate at all. Not to mention theyre dirty as f***

I think anyone who serves in the military and gets honorably discharged should automatically become a citizen.

They end up getting a relatively easy path while enlisted.

Mexicans will celebrate stuff like July 4th and Thanksgiving. These migrants from India and Muslim countries do not.

They view America as an economic zone. Thats why they have zero shame with taking govt assistance. In their culture its considered smart to take advantage of that stuff. Its low trust vs high trust society shit.

It depends where you come from.

If you're a European immigrant you're one hop and a skip away from American culture and customs since what we know of as "American" is basically an amalgam of different European ethnicities over time.

But if you're from a completely different part of the planet then it's a lot harder to fully assimilate or even want to assimilate.
